Celebrating Women’s Equality Day: Top Female Influencers Empowering Financial Savvy

August 26th is Women’s Equality Day in the US, commemorating the signing into law of the Women’s Suffrage Amendment in 1920, making a turning point in the history of the struggle for equal treatment of women and their rights. In 2021, Women’s equality has grown to mean much more than just sharing the right to vote and yet, women still only make $0.82 for every dollar a man makes.

When exploring the topic of financial wellbeing for women Prof Roslyn Russel states “There’s actually not enough financial advice available that’s affordable and fun and just for the average young person, let alone an average woman,” she says. “It is just not available. You can either get a financial counsellor or you can spend hundreds of dollars to get a financial adviser. There’s nothing in between.”

To celebrate Women’s Equality Day, the Wearisma Team have wanted to share the female influencers within the industry who we follow on social media and who are engaging with their audiences to provide advice on how to be more financially savvy.
